Man faces 5 years in prison for stealing soda
Naples, Florida – After leaving a McDonald’s without paying for a cup of soda, Mark Abaire, 52, is facing a felony theft charge. Abaire walked into the restaurant and asked the employee at the counter if he could have a cup for water. When he was given one, he went to the soda fountain and filled it with soda instead, then left to sit outside. Due to previous petty theft convictions, what would have been a misdemeanor petty theft charge was escalated to a felony, which could earn Abaire up to five years in jail and a $5,000 fine. Woman collars man who exposed himself on a trolley
Boston, Massachusetts – A strap-hanging MBTA heroine single-handedly held a man who exposed himself on a crowded B-Line trolley – dragging him off the train and holding him until cops arrived. She said she held the man with one hand and berated him while she waited for the cops to arrive. She said he looked frightened. The man told transit cops that the packed and jostling trolley caused his shorts to fall and that he was unaware he was exposed until the woman started screaming. More Nutty News Stories

Man gets lost in hometown, winds up 280 miles away
Indiana – Police in the small southwest Ohio city of Hillsboro have returned an 82-year-old man to his home 280 miles away after he apparently got lost while driving in his Indiana hometown. Auto shop employees called police to say a man was sitting in his pickup truck, apparently confused. Police talked to Earl Lutterman and learned he got lost while driving in Evansville, Indiana. Boy suspended for standing up to bully
Colorado – A nine-year-old Colorado boy claims he was suspended from his elementary school after fighting back against a bully who was beating him. Nathan Pemberton, a third-grader at West Elementary School in Colorado Springs, was suspended following a physical altercation with another student. “One kid kicked me in the back, then punched me in the face. Then I punched him in the face and then I got in trouble,” the boy said. The boy’s parents said their son has repeatedly complained of being bullied at school. More Nutty News Stories

McDonald’s employee arrested for spitting in tea
Simpsonville, South Carolina – A teenage McDonald’s employee from South Carolina was charged after allegedly spitting phlegm into a mother and daughter’s cups of sweet tea. Authorities said the two women ordered the drinks from the McDonald’s and returned them when they found they were not sweetened. After finding the drinks were still not correct when they got them back, the pair took them home to add their own sweetener — only to find phlegm floating in each of their drinks. Woman faked kidnapping to visit boyfriend in Mexico
Arizona – A woman who sparked an investigation when she called her mother and claimed she had been kidnapped admitted she made the story up so she could visit her boyfriend in Mexico. 22-year-old Jessica Rodriguez was considered a missing and endangered person until she showed up at a border crossing station. Rodriguez said she had lied to her mother and actually traveled to Mexico to see her boyfriend, Jesus Mondragon who is a person of interest in a homicide. More Nutty News Stories

Couple sues landlord over haunted house
New Jersey – A couple is suing their landlord because they claim their rental home is haunted. Jose Chinchilla and his fiancee Michele Callan claim they were terrorized by eerie noises, flickering lights, slamming doors and strange pulling on their bed sheets. The couple says they brought in a team of paranormal investigators, who confirmed paranormal activity inside the home. Kayaker drowns after being attacked by swan
Illinois – An Illinois man drowned in a pond after falling off his kayak when a swan attacked him, with his death ruled an accident. Anthony Hensley, 37, was working as part of his job keeping geese away from a condominium complex near Des Plaines when it is thought he got too close to a swan and it attacked him. Cult members arrested for cannibalism
Brazil – Brazilian police announced that they had arrested a man and two women on suspicion of having murdered and cannibalized at least two women in what was described as a purification ritual. The three defendants formed a sect called “Cartel” that seeks to purify the world and reduce the population. Naked Vermont governor almost eaten by bears
Vermont – Gov. Peter Shumlin said that he was chased by one of four large bears in his back yard absent his pajamas. The first-term Democrat said he noticed the bears in the back yard late at night, outside his rental home near Monteplier, where they were nosing at his bird feeders just feet from his windows. Shumlin is quoted as saying: “I sleep like many Vermont boys, without too much clothing at night. I’m not a big pajama person. Hamster gets stuck to cage after eating magnet
UK – Four-month-old Smurf was found hanging from the outside of her cage by her mouth after owner Kate Meech returned from a day out with her family. After being stuck there for eight hours, the rodent was freed by the mother of four, who then saw the outline of the magnet in Smurf’s cheek pouch. Newlywed teacher had sex with an underage student
Fresno, California – A newlywed teacher has been arrested over allegations of having under age sex with one of her students. Megan Denman has been banned from the classroom while police carry out their investigation. Police in Fresno, California, said their initial inquiries indicate that the 29-year-old social studies teacher was only involved with one student. Man committed 10 felonies on Greyhound layover
Nutty News Nashville, Tennessee – Police said William Todd traveled to Nashville on a Greyhound bus. During his nine-hour layover, officers said he committed more than 10 felonies. Officers said Todd broke into the Slaughterhouse and stole a Taser, revolver and shotgun. Then, they said he shot the business up, stole a T-shirt and set the business on fire. UFO Coverup on Last Shuttle Mission
Nutty News NASA – Official video from the last shuttle mission has been reviewed and analyzed. Did NASA coverup evidence of a UFO? A segment from NASA’s live, public feed shows an angle of the Atlantis cargo bay and boom being opened and serviced. The ground controller on the last shuttle flight is describing the action to the audience, and it’s all pretty dry stuff. Until about the 4:30 mark. Suddenly the camera pans upward and three orbs appear, flying in the increasingly familiar triangle formation. As the image plays out, it seems the narrator and other commenters are trying very hard to persuade anyone watching that what they are seeing are random reflections of light off a piece of tin foil. Both items you can buy almost anywhere, but when mixed together it makes for a deadly combination. “They would simply pour it in the container or pour the hand sanitizer and drink it and share it,” said Albuquerque Police Department Deputy Chief Paul Feist. Pastor in Krispy Kreme crash charged with DUI, drugs
Nutty News Henrico, Virginia – The co-pastor of a Varina church accused of crashing into a Richmond Krispy Kreme, also faces a charge of driving under the influence of drugs for a second crash the same day. Police say just hours after 47-year-old pastor Jay Bertrand was released from the hospital he got into another accident. Bertrand’s first accident happened when he crossed three lanes of oncoming traffic, hit the sidewalk and crashed into the Krispy Kreme on Broad Street, knocked a painter off a ladder along the way. 6-year-old found drinking alcohol at party
Nutty News Rhode Island – Two people were arrested after a 6-year-old and several other minors were found drinking alcohol at a Rhode Island party. Police say a woman contacted them after she went to pick up her child from a birthday party in East Providence and discovered her child had been drinking. Woman lands plane after pilot falls unconscious
Nutty News Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin – An 80-year-old Wisconsin woman successfully landed a twin-engine plane after her pilot husband became unconscious and later died. Authorities say the woman’s 81-year-old husband suffered a medical condition while he was at the controls of the plane and lost consciousness. His wife, who had no flying experience, called on the radio for help. The Door County Cherryland Airport in northeast Wisconsin sent a second plane up to help coach the woman down. Robot Shuts Down Dallas Airport
Nutty News Dallas, Texas - A robotic device accidentally left aboard a Southwest Airlines jet shut down Dallas' Love Field and resulted in law officers detaining 11 passengers. Crews prepping a jet after Southwest Flight #157 from Amarillo to Dallas, found the device on a plane behind the cockpit around 4:00 p.m. It was determined that the device was not dangerous and was a student's science project. Man swipes 43 dollar bills off pub’s walls
Nutty News Destin, Florida – A 66-year-old Michigan man accused of stealing 43 dollar bills off the wall at McGuire’s Irish Pub was arrested and charged with misdemeanor larceny. A deputy working the security detail at McGuire’s was approached by a manager who said he’d witness a man taking dollar bills from the walls and putting them in his back pocket.
